On December 21, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (WEA-2023-02) to Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos, for violations of DOE’s Worker Safety and Health Program requirements (10 C.F.R. 851) associated with a worker heat exhaustion event that occurred at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
