On April 15, 2011, the National Nuclear Security Administration issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (NEA-2011-01) to Los Alamos National Security, LLC for violations of 10 C.F.R. 835 associated with unanticipated extremity radiation exposures that occurred at technical areas 48 and 53 on July 24, 2009,at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
