On March 12, 2021, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (WEA-2021-01) to Jefferson Science Associates, LLC, for violations of DOE’s Worker Safety and Health Program requirements (10 C.F.R. 851) associated with deficiencies in JSA’s implementation of DOE’s electrical safety program requirements and three events involving the incomplete implementation of hazardous energy controls at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.
