On January 10, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement notified UT- Battelle LLC, and subcontractors The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, and BESCO-Engert, of its intent to investigate potential deficiencies in the implementation of DOE’s 10 C.F.R. Part 851 Worker Safety and Health Program requirements at DOE’s Translational Research Facility at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
