On January 24, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement notified Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC, of its intent to investigate potential noncompliances with DOE nuclear safety program requirements (10 C.F.R. Part 835) related to the March 2023 loss of contamination control and discovery of contaminated property both on and offsite, including at worker residences, on April 3, 2023.
