Review of the West Valley Demonstration Project Emergency Management Program Technical Basis and Emergency Preparedness
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) independent Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA) was established in May 2014 and assumed responsibility for managing the Department’s independent oversight program from the Department’s former Office of Health, Safety and Security (HSS). This independent review of the emergency management program at the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) was conducted prior to the creation of EA. HSS Independent Oversight performed this review to evaluate compliance with DOE Order 151.1C, Comprehensive Emergency Management System, for establishing a technically based emergency management program and developing the commensurate planning and preparedness elements. The review was performed at WVDP during April 7-10, 2014.
