The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Nuclear Safety and Environmental Assessments, within the independent Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA), conducted an assessment of the conceptual safety design report and the DOE Savannah River Operations Office safety review letter for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition project at the Savannah River Site K-Area Complex. This assessment is part of a series of targeted safety basis assessments of nuclear facility projects at DOE sites.
