On October 24, 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Health, Safety and Security’s Office of Enforcement and Oversight issued an Enforcement Letter to EnergySolutions, LLC related to a radiological event caused by pumps that leaked contaminated sludge inside the H2 Tank Farm Weather Enclosure at DOE's Separations Process Research Unit in New York.
