DOE RDS Status Updates

The table below provides the status of DOE Records Disposition Schedules (RDS) currently in development, review, or revision.  The schedules generally go through the bulleted process below, with the amount of time spent in each phase varying. Typically, it takes anywhere from nine months to a year or more for NARA to process a new RDS once DOE submits. 

  • Drafting 
  • Initial review (including RM community review) 
  • Comment adjudication 
  • Final internal stakeholder review and concurrence (SME, PRO, GC, and IG) 
  • Submission to NARA 
  • Federal Register posting by NARA 
  • NARA Approval 
  • Transmittal of approved DOE RDS to RM community (within 6 months of NARA approval)
