The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) announced the Next Generation of Academia-Based Cyber Research, Development, and Demonstration (RD&D) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for $10 million of funding to support RD&D efforts to build collaborative partnerships that will advance cybersecurity technologies.
Through this opportunity, CESER aims to establish a regional pilot to foster partnerships among national laboratories, universities, electricity sector utilities, and state and local government entities to identify and mitigate the prevalent and constantly evolving national security threats to regional infrastructure.
“This funding opportunity will enable CESER to integrate university-developed innovative cybersecurity technologies into electric sector infrastructure for enhanced resilience,” said Dan LaGraffe, Deputy Director of CESER’s Risk Management Tools and Technologies Division.
This NOFO is available to domestic public and private sector stakeholders, and applicants are required to apply by Feb. 18, 2025.
