WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States, Canada, Norway, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia welcome the United Arab Emirates as the sixth member of the Net-Zero Producers Forum (NPF). Collectively representing 45 percent of global oil production and 40 percent of natural gas production, the NPF is focusing on accelerating the scale and speed of reaching net-zero emissions. The inclusion of the UAE further strengthens the Forum’s ability to respond effectively and pragmatically to the global climate challenge, while supporting a sustainable and secure energy future. NPF member countries are dedicated to cooperatively developing net-zero emission strategies, including methane abatement, advancing the circular carbon economy approach, development and deployment of clean-energy and carbon capture and storage technologies, diversification from reliance on hydrocarbon revenues, and other measures in line with each country's national circumstances.
