On April 3, 2014, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) will present a First Thursday Seminar on New Developments in Federal Energy Efficiency Standards.
This training session will be led by Mark Halverson, Ph.D., an engineer in the Building Energy Systems Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and an expert in energy codes since 1993. This First Thursday Seminar is essential for all Federal energy management personnel to understand new, more-stringent, energy-efficiency mandates scheduled to go into effect in July 2014.
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Understand the legislative and executive order drivers of Federal building energy efficiency standards
- Determine which standards apply to which building types, and which are exempt
- Apply standards based on when the building design for construction was initiated.
After completing a course evaluation and multiple-choice assessment, participants will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible for continuing education units.
First Thursday Seminars are designed for Federal energy and facility managers but are open to all individuals through the FEMP Training database. Courses are hosted in partnership with the National Institute of Building Sciences’ Whole Building Design Guide.
