A National Offshore Wind Strategy: Creating an Offshore Wind Energy Industry in the United States

The link below leads to the 2011 release of A National Offshore Wind Strategy, DOE's first strategic plan for accelerating the responsible deployment of offshore wind energy in the United States.

Building on this original strategy, an updated National Offshore Wind Strategy was developed jointly with the U.S. Departments of Energy and the Interior and released in September 2016. In 2022, DOE released Offshore Wind Energy Strategies which laid out the challenges that needed to be addressed to accelerate offshore wind deployment.
