Freedom of Information Act Appeal
On October 15, 2013, OHA issued a decision denying an Appeal filed by Ferdinand Lohman of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) final determination issued by the Office of Legacy Management (OLM). Mr. Lohman’s FOIA request sought all correspondence concerning his father’s employment by a DOE subcontractor at the DOE Fernald Feed Materials Production Center between 1951 and 1983. OLM stated in its determination that it found no responsive documents and Mr. Lohman challenged the adequacy of OLM’s search. Based upon its inquiry, OHA concluded that OLM’s search for responsive documents was adequate and reasonably calculated to locate any responsive agency records. Accordingly, OHA denied the Appeal.
