On May 19, 2000, the U.S. Department of Energy issued a Preliminary Notice of Violation (EA-2000-05) to Kaiser-Hill Company for violations of 10 C.F.R. 835 associated with an unplanned, uncontrolled uptake of radioactive material during glovebox decontamination and decommissioning activities at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site.
