Scott Brna is the Acting Director of the Office of Finance and Accounting, and Deputy Director of the Financial Operations within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In this capacity, he oversees accounting for operations, loans, environmental liabilities, pensions, and payroll. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), a master’s in business administration from Syracuse University, and is an active licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Scott has dedicated his entire career to public service in the federal government, working his way up to Deputy Chief Financial Officer at the Program Support Center (PSC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he spent 29 years. Scott oversaw accounting operations for Food Safety Inspection Service, United States Department of Agriculture, for one year prior to joining DOE in July 2020.
