Name and what do you do at EM/Navarro?
My name is Mike Faulks. I am a site supervisor at industrial sites for the Environmental Management Nevada Program. I am an employee of environmental program services contractor Navarro Research & Engineering.
What branch did you serve in; when; where stationed? How many years of service?
I served in the U.S Army at Fort Bliss, Texas (1 tour) four years (2008-2012).
Most memorable event/moment during your service?
I was a Patriot missile operator. Seeing the first live fire at White Sands Missile Range will always stick with me.
How has your military service helped prepare you for the job you do in EM?
The military has always instilled in me an attention to detail and situational awareness, both of which are great traits when promoting safety and a good work culture. Warriors’ leader course also helped me become a better leader and was a huge part in my development.
When did you begin working for EM and what got you interested in the cleanup mission?
I just started here with the Environmental Management Nevada Program but I have been a part of Deactivation & Decommissioning operations at Cold War legacy sites for 10 years now. The Nevada National Security Sites has always been one I’ve wanted to contribute to.
