Former Special Assistant, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
William “Will” Wilkinson was a Special Assistant to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Prior to joining the team, Will served as Interim Chief of Staff for Councilmember Anthony Tamez, where he led initiatives to enhance community safety and police-community relations in Chicago. This included collaborating with the NYU Marron Institute to implement urban safety strategies and child-sensitive arrest policies. As a Fellow for the Aspen Institute, Will directed a nationwide environmental program for Native American youth, forging key partnerships to address climate change and environmental justice. His passion for energy policy grew through his work on climate issues impacting Native communities at the U.S. Department of the Interior, as well as his contributions to climate change research as a Udall Foundation intern in the office of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. Will holds a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Haskell Indian Nations University.
