Description/Duties:

The Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) is looking to hire a Technology Manager to be part of its Analysis team. Technology Managers support the research, development, and demonstration of high-impact technologies and solutions that enable the reliable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective integration of sustainable transportation for our nation. At the GS-12 level, the Analysis Technology Manager will serve as a technical expert in data-driven, advanced transportation technology models, tools, and analyses to investigate critical questions and create insights about energy use and other relevant metrics. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required to Perform the Work/Specialized Experience:

  • Analyzing situations, identifying problems, probing causes, and recommending courses of action or solutions.
  • Using sound technical judgment and initiative to help solve the challenges of changing conditions and other problems relative to assigned projects and programs.
  • Working closely with a team, performing assessments, clearly and concisely documenting assessment results, and presenting findings orally and in writing to approval authorities.
  • Coordinating with related engineering and physical science fields to effectively discuss technical points and to recommend acceptable solutions.
  • Performing and interpreting calculations, analyses, and computations for unknown factors or relationships involving well understood mechanisms; and 
  • Developing and utilizing data collection techniques to assess project and program effectiveness.

Additional Details:

Occasional multi-day travel will be required. Financial disclosure is required, and incumbent may be required to pass a background investigation.
