The new Grid Resource Integration Technologies (GRIT) Prize Series, an Office of Electricity (OE) effort in partnership with other OE offices, coordinates prizes that focus on technology integration into grid systems. This prize series, through the American Made Challenges initiative, will catalyze research and development efforts across multiple offices focused on grid modernization through integration of grid resource technology, including distributed resources, operational tools, planning tools, energy storage, and more.
The rapid pace of innovation requires a more coordinated approach to technology integration. New grid resources and new ways of planning, operating, and financing grid modernization technologies can benefit from the insights across sectors of the energy landscape. To ensure a holistic approach to technology integration, this prize series connects multidisciplinary communities of innovators who can collectively advance resilient, reliable, secure, and affordable electricity to all Americans.
Prizes in the GRIT Prize Series:
Applicants are encouraged to apply and follow the prizes on HeroX for more information on upcoming GRIT Prize Series initiatives.
