Groundwater U

The Department of Energy has partnered with the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Boeing and NASA on two Groundwater U series, which are community education workshops that provide information on groundwater activities happening at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL). The workshops are designed to provide community members and stakeholders the opportunity to review and comment on select future groundwater decision documents. 

Three virtual workshops were held in the winter and spring of 2024 as part of the second Groundwater U. Around 50 community members also participated in a site tour at SSFL as part of the final event of the series. Visit the DTSC's SSFL page for meeting materials and read about the tour. 

The first Groundwater U was a seven-part, in-person series at SSFL held in spring and summer of 2011, with at least 100 members of the public participating. Information and materials from the first series can be viewed below.
