The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management gives notice of receipt of an Application filed September 25, 2023, by Southern LNG Company, L.L.C. (Southern LNG Company), seeking long-term multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) up to the equivalent of an additional 28.25 billion cubic feet of natural gas per year to Non-Free Trade Agreement (Non-FTA) countries.  Southern LNG Company proposes to export LNG from the Elba Island Terminal, located in Chatham County, Georgia to any country that has, or in the future will have, the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier, with which the United States does not have an FTA requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policies.  The authorization is requested for a term extending through December 31, 2050.  Southern LNG Company requests this authorization on its own behalf and as agent for other parties who hold title to the LNG at the time of export.  A Federal Register Notice will be issued for the application.
