Dr. David M. Lunderberg joined the Department of Energy in 2023 as a AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Building Technologies Office. He is working in the Emerging Technologies Program to support building decarbonization and energy efficiency pathways in Building Controls and Building Energy Modeling.
He was previously a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley where he studied the sources, physicochemical behavior, and modes of human exposure of airborne organic chemicals in the indoor environment. He has published findings in 19+ peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals such as (1) Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, (2) Environmental Science & Technology, and (3) Indoor Air. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Hope College.
