Funding Selections: AMMTO-BTO and OE FY22 Multi-Topic FOA

Office: Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office

FOA Number: DE-FOA-0002864

Available Funding: $61 Million

Description

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) selected 31 projects led by national laboratories, industry, and academia to accelerate research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) in domestic manufacturing. With more than $61 million in federal funding, the selectees will drive innovation to progress the next generation materials and manufacturing and related energy technologies required to strengthen America’s economic competitiveness and move the U.S. towards a net-zero carbon economy by 2050.

These FOA selections seek to advance development of next generation structural and functional materials for energy technology, as well as field validation and pilot demonstration of technologies for materials and manufacturing processes. Specifically, the goals of this multi-topic FOA are to: Validate and demonstrate next generation materials and manufacturing processes including domestic pilot demonstrations and related technologies to support the transition to U.S. manufacturing; enable environmentally and socially responsible domestic manufacturing with diversified domestic supply of feedstocks, including from recycled goods; and mature nascent technologies, processes, and methods that improve the performance and market penetration of clean energy technologies and emerging building efficiency technologies.
