DOE ordered Ebac Industrial Products, Inc. (Ebac) to pay a $100,00 civil penalty after Ebac had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of the noncompliant Ebac dehumidifiers model # CD30E. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Ebac.
On May 7, 2019, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Ebac finding that the Ebac dehumidifiers model # CD30E does not comply with applicable energy/water conservation standards based on DOE testing. Ebac provided DOE records showing the number of units Ebac distributed.
