Using alternative fuels (including electricity) and advanced vehicles (with improved fuel economy) conserves fuel, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and helps to decarbonize the U.S. transportation sector. Through the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, the Loan Programs Office is supporting the domestic manufacture of eligible advanced technology vehicles and qualifying components, onshoring and reshoring the supply chain for the transportation sector, and bringing high-quality jobs to the United States.
