As the Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) continues to grow and expand our efforts to bring innovative, clean technologies to market, we need top talent to help us execute both long-term and immediate goals for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Biden Administration. In this transformational and exciting time, we are thrilled to welcome a new member to the OTT team.

Charlie Kong brings over eight years of experience in government and private sector contracting to his new role as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) and Chief Commercialization Officer for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Prior to OTT, Charlie worked as a technical lead and documentation specialist in support of a major transportation project in the northern Virginia region where he was responsible for leading the documentation efforts for new express lanes on Interstate 66. Before that, at the National Nuclear Security Administration, Charlie served as an executive director to the Deputy Associate Administrator (DAA) for Infrastructure where he was responsible for maintaining strategic plans, action tracking, correspondence, and accountable for the DAA’s schedule and travel needs.

Charlie has also served as a Team Coordinator in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where he held a supervisory position overseeing case intake within the Office for Civil Rights and reviewed and processed petroleum storage tank remediation claims in support of the Office of Spill Response and Remediation at the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
