Environmental Findings

Southwestern conducts environmental work in accordance with Federal regulations and the Department of Energy’s implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act. Two categories of action are: Categorical Exclusion Determinations, which are classes of departmental actions that the Department of Energy has, by regulation, determined do not individually or cumulatively have a significant effect on the environment and for which, therefore, neither an Environmental Impact Statement nor an Environmental Assessment is required; and Environmental Assessments, which determine whether or not a Federal action has the potential to cause significant environmental effects.
