Maria Pope is president and CEO of Portland General Electric (NYSE: POR). Under her leadership PGE is accelerating the transition to a clean energy future by adding significant of renewable energy, hardening the grid through investments in transmission and distribution assets, accelerating technical innovation, and collaborating with customers and policy makers to advance supportive energy policy. 

Maria joined PGE in 2009 as CFO and treasurer. She went on to oversee the company’s power generation, wholesale power marketing and long-term resource strategy. 

Prior to PGE, Maria was CFO of Mentor Graphics Corporation. She has also held senior operating and finance positions within the forest products and consumer products industries. Maria began her career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley.

Maria is the vice chair of the Edison Electric Institute, the chair of the Electric Power Research Institute and serves on the executive committee of the Oregon Business Council.

Maria attended Stanford Graduate School of Business and Georgetown University.
