Our Nation’s critical infrastructure is vital to keeping our communities safe and secure. U.S. critical infrastructure includes the transportation that moves us, the water we drink, and the energy we use in our homes, businesses, and emergency services. Without these services, the effects on national security, economic security, and national public health and safety would be devastating.

Energy sector employees are continually on the front lines during an emergency, striving to keep the power turned on or restore it as quickly as possible. The past hurricane and wildfire seasons, and more recently, the winter storm in the Central U.S., are just a few examples of their perpetual and committed efforts in often dangerous weather conditions brought on by the global climate crisis – all while braving the pandemic.

The Department of Energy's Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response invites you to join us in expressing the utmost appreciation for the essential workforce who continue to support our Nation’s energy infrastructure. They powered us through the challenges we faced before, and we know we can rely on them when duty calls. We are grateful for your dedication and commitment.
