The DOE Office of Legacy Management took responsibility for long-term surveillance and maintenance at 40 Tonopah Test Range Corrective Action Units in 2020. The TTR sites are located on land owned by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and managed by the U.S. Air Force. Long-term monitoring for TTR (a Weapons-Related Site/Industrial and Soils program Site) is conducted according to site-specific Federal Facility Agreement and Consent Order closure requirements, with results summarized in annual post-closure monitoring reports. Long term-surveillance and maintenance activities are coordinated with USAF, the National Nuclear Security Administration, and other organizations that use the TTR. For more information about TTR, view the fact sheet.
