NOTICE OF INTENT: New FOA Will Support Research and Development for Plastics
DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) recently published a notice of intent to issue a joint Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) titled “BOTTLE: Bio-Optimized Technologies to Keep Thermoplastics out of Landfills and the Environment.” This FOA, jointly funded by the Bioenergy Technologies Office and AMO, will support high-impact research and development for plastics. United States Continues to Lead World in Supercomputing
According to TOP500, the Summit supercomputing machine at DOE’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory ranked first in the world again, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Sierra machine ranked second. In total, four of the 10 fastest computers belong to DOE National Laboratories, with Los Alamos and Sandia Labs’ Trinity machine at 7th place and Lawrence Livermore’s Lassen machine at 10th place. University of Maryland Wins 2019 National CyberForce Competition™
Last month, DOE announced the team from University of Maryland, Baltimore County as the national winner of DOE’s 2019 CyberForce Competition™. CyberForce 2019 is DOE’s fifth iteration of its cyber defense competition, designed to inspire and develop the next generation of energy sector cybersecurity professionals.
