More than 400 attendees – lighting industry leaders, chip makers, fixture manufacturers, researchers, academia, lighting designers, architects, trade associations, energy efficiency organizations, and utilities – gathered at the DOE SSL R&D Workshop in San Francisco to share insights and updates on technology advances and market developments. Attendees also had an opportunity to provide input that will guide updates to the DOE SSL R&D Multi-Year Program Plan.

Nearly 200 attendees gathered at the DOE SSL Manufacturing Workshop in Fairfax, VA to help shape a new DOE manufacturing initiative to reduce the cost of LED products to competitive levels, ensure high product quality and consistent performance, accelerate introduction of OLED products, and encourage and strengthen U.S. manufacturing of SSL products.

Over 150 attendees gathered at the second DOE SSL Manufacturing Workshop in Vancouver, WA to build on the work begun at the inaugural workshop in April. More than 300 attendees gathered at the fifth annual SSL Market Introduction Workshop in Philadelphia, PA to share the latest updates and strategies for successful market introduction of high-quality, energy-efficient SSL solutions. The workshop was preceded by a series of tutorials for those new to SSL, and a webcast on evaluating LED street lighting solutions.
