FIA-18-0003 - In the Matter of Institute for Research : Middle Eastern Policy, Inc.

On January 31, 2018, the Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) denied a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Appeal filed by the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy, Inc. (Appellant) from a final determination issued by the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). On Appeal, the Appellant alleged that NNSA had not conducted an adequate search for responsive records. After review, OHA determined that NNSA conducted a search reasonably calculated to uncover the records requested by the Appellant. Accordingly, OHA denied the Appeal. OHA Case No. FIA-18-0003
