Management Controls over Monitoring and Closeout of Small Business Innovation Research Phase II Grants
The Office of Science's Chicago Office (Chicago) had not corrected all weaknesses in the Small Business Innovation Research Phase II (SBIR II) grants program. Specifically, management had not completed resolution of questioned costs from our previous audit of SBIR II grants. Additionally, testing revealed a number of problems with the timely close out of completed grants.
