The deadline for applications for the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) entitled “Advanced Manufacturing Projects for Emerging Research Exploration” has been extended to May 2, 2017 at 5:00 PM ET. To be eligible to submit a Full Application, applicants must have submitted a Concept Paper by the specified due date and time of January 31, 2017 at 5:00 PM ET.

DEADLINE: AMO’s Multi-Year Program Plan Draft Available for Public Review – April 14

Please send your feedback and comments regarding the Advanced Manufacturing Office’s Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP) draft to [email protected] by April 14, 2017.

AMO’s draft MYPP is intended for use as an operational guide to help AMO manage and coordinate its activities, as well as a resource to help communicate its priorities and opportunities to stakeholders and the public by identifying the technology, outreach, and crosscutting activities the Office plans to focus on.

EVENT: Register Now for the AMO Critical Materials Planning Workshop – April 18-19

The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) will host a workshop in Raleigh, NC on April 18-19, 2017. The topic of this two-day workshop is Critical Materials for Manufacturing and Energy.

Through the workshop, AMO seeks to foster an exchange of information among industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies and other interested parties to identify technical challenges, technology development needs and key underlying science challenges that if successfully addressed, could enable step change impacts beyond the current state of the art. Existing information regarding current issues of Critical Materials for manufacturing and energy may be found here.

EVENT: Advanced Manufacturing Office Graduate-Level Traineeship Development Workshop – April 20

The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) in the office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) of the U.S. Department of Energy plans to host an information gathering workshop in Phoenix, Arizona on April 20, 2017. The purpose of this 1/2 day workshop is to seek feedback from public and private sector stakeholders regarding technical focus areas for advanced manufacturing graduate-level Traineeship programs. The workshop will also serve to inform AMO of associated early-stage research needs.

AMO welcomes feedback on all Traineeship technical focus areas from stakeholders but is particularly interested in input related to Advanced Materials, Additive Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Process Intensification.
