The U.S. Department of Energy has announced the 2015 Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Phase II Release 2 Awards, including projects focused on fuel cell durability, performance, and efficiency with the ultimate goal of lowering costs.

  • Giner, Inc. of Newton, Massachusetts, will develop advanced membrane and electrode components to significantly enhance the durability and performance of fuel cells and electrolyzers.
  • Tetramer Technologies LLC of Pendleton, South Carolina, will develop new high performance water vapor membranes to improve fuel cell balance-of-plant components, reducing cost and improving performance.
