Robert Corbin

Mr. Robert Corbin served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Petroleum Reserves in the DOE Office of Fossil Energy. Mr. Corbin was responsible for providing executive leadership and program direction in the management and operation of the Department of Energy’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve, and Naval Petroleum and Oil Shale Reserve.

Prior to this role, Mr. Corbin was the manager of the natural gas regulatory activities program in the Office of Oil and Natural Gas. He was appointed to the U.S. Government’s Senior Executive Service in 2008 as the Director of Oil and Gas Global Security and Supply, where he was responsible for leading and managing Fossil Energy’s natural gas regulatory activities, oil and natural gas international activities, and liquefied natural gas safety programs.

Mr. Corbin is a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and served over 22 years on active duty as a Coast Guard officer, retiring in 2001 with the rank of Commander. Upon retirement from active duty, Corbin continued his public service career, joining the Federal civilian workforce as the Deputy Program Manager for the Coast Guard’s liquefied natural gas deepwater ports program. Mr. Corbin holds Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and New Jersey Institute of Technology, respectively.
