The IAC Commercial Building Pilot is a cohort of Industrial Assessment Centers that also perform assessments for small- and medium-sized commercial buildings. IAC personnel at the selected universities will work with community colleges and technical training programs to provide continuous learning for students and professionals while also providing assessments and recommendations to small and medium-sized commercial buildings and businesses. To apply for an assessment, contact one of the 17 schools across the country that currently participate in the pilot. Click on a university name below for contact information for each location.
Building upon the demonstrated success of applied learning environments and hands-on training approaches of existing IACs and the IAC Commercial Building Pilot, the Office of State and Community Energy Projects has released an opportunity for new Building Training and Assessment Centers. The new BTACs will expand these benefits to commercial and institutional buildings to help lower utility costs and allow companies to reinvest in businesses, employees, and community services. The BTACs will train engineers, architects, building scientists, building energy permitting and enforcement officials, and building technicians in energy-efficient building design and operation.
