The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to NexTech Materials, Ltd. dba Nexceris, LLC (Nexceris) for the design, development, and testing of new protective coatings and getter materials for solid-oxide electrolysis cells. The development and manufacture of coatings and getter materials as well as testing activities would occur at Nexceris’ single facility in Lewis Center, OH. Identification, synthesis, fabrication and testing of oxide-based coatings and getter materials would also occur at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Additionally, collaboration is expected to occur with the HydroGEN Energy Materials Network Consortium.
